Johan Renck is a Swedish director of music videos, TV and film. He was originally a singer-songwriter from 1991 to 2001, using the moniker Stakka Bo. "Here We Go" was an international hit single in 1993. In 2019 he won an Emmy Award for his work on the mini-series Chernobyl.

Undoubtedly a part of the video’s popularity was due to the girl in the video, model Alma Jansson-Eklund. (Though Alma did a great job lip synching, the vocals were provided by Nana Hedin.) Tragically, Alma struggled with depression and committed suicide ten years after the release of Away We Go.
